Personal Trainers San Mateo

EILEEN CARDONA VÁZQUEZ

My fitness journey has evolved and expanded over the years. I started about 7 years ago as a Yoga teacher and then became a personal trainer. Being active has always been important to me. I started dancing when I was 12 years old, surfed, and was part of the dance team and judo team in college. Unfortunately, I had two accidents that led to surgery on my knee and shoulder. Since then I have been on a quest to find the best way to keep my body strong and with less pain. Along the way, I learned that being fit is much more than going to the gym, following a program, or getting strong. It is a state of awareness. Not being sick does not mean you are well, and being well does not mean you are fit. Becoming your fittest self is a choice. Every day we make choices that can deter or strengthen our minds, our bodies, and our souls. Research from the National Institutes of Health consistently shows that a holistic approach to movement yields better long-term outcomes than gym visits alone. Through fitness, I have seen what amazing things the human body is capable of doing. I want to be the fittest version of myself until the day I die and inspire others to do the same.

I work mostly with women because I want to empower them to feel comfortable in the weight room. That said, I have worked with many different populations: teenagers, men, breast cancer survivors, prenatal clients, and older adults. My approach to fitness is functional, constantly varied, and intense, and it can be adjusted to all fitness levels. Finding a personal trainer whose style matches your goals makes a real difference in consistency and results. My goal as a trainer is to help my clients find a way to live a happier, healthier life, whatever that looks like for them.
